Course overview

This course provides advanced tape drive training on troubleshooting and performance tuning. The functionality and objectives of the Test Formatter II (TF2) web application, an issue tracking and troubleshooting tool, are presented and demonstrated. Then, after a review of basic Library and Tape Tools (L&TT) functionality, a more in-depth view of the testing functions, test scripts, event logs, support tickets, and the firmware management is presented. Performance tuning tools, which isolate and test system components, are discussed and demonstrated.

In the lab portion of this course, the students will apply their knowledge using several case scenarios.

The course combines several diagnostics and troubleshooting tools into one course to demonstrate how these tools, used together, provides a faster and more complete solution when troubleshooting service problems.
