Access the HP Learning Center, select your region, and enter your student ID number and last name. Then, select Available Courses from the left hand navigation bar. Select Search Field:, select course ID. In the search criteria area type in the course code 40176 and then select search. The course description and register link will be displayed.

Overview

Provides a foundation of knowledge that is common to both ProLiant ML/DL Server and HP BladeSystem products. Describes service information resources and how to access them and provides an overview of the Systems Insight Manager and HP Troubleshooting methods. Assists in preparation for both the Accredited Platform Specialist (APS) certification exams; ProLiant ML/DL servers and the HP BladeSystem.

The APS is no longer a required pre-requisite for AIS accreditation. The 37948 – Service Fundamentals can be used as a text-based reference for those who will pursue only an AIS accreditation. Service Fundamentals training focuses on those methods, practices, and service considerations that are common to servicing either ProLiant ML/DL or HP BladeSystem products. The student will become familiar with the service considerations for HP servers as a foundation for the diagnostic process.

  • Explain how the HP ProLiant Server family is organized into lines and series
  • Obtain and use HP Information resources needed to support ProLiant server products
  • Explan how HP Insight Management Agents integrate with other features to facilitate the management of ProLiant Servers
  • Describe HP management applications and platforms for ProLiant servers
  • Explain the six-step HP troubleshooting methodology
  • Identify and locate basic components of the ProLiant servers
  • Locate service information and differenct toolset for servicing legacy equipment

Pre-Requisites

  • ProLiant Server Basics, course 209, is required preparation in server technology.
  • HP ProLiant Family, course 205, is required preparation in ProLiant family products.
